Sunflowers Mazes and Festivals in Connecticut

The Annual Buttonwood Farm Sunflower Festival is happening from July 22nd to July 30th. Immerse yourself in the beauty of over 14 acres of vibrant sunflowers. Buttonwood Farm dedicates their efforts to planting and harvesting approximately 300,000 sunflower blooms each year for your enjoyment. More importantly, this event aims to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut, a non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of children facing life-threatening medical conditions.

Farms like Buttonwood Farm have gained popularity for their vast sunflower fields, which attract visitors from near and far. These farms often host special events or open their fields for public viewing, allowing people to immerse themselves in the breathtaking sights of golden sunflowers stretching as far as the eye can see.


The Annual Lyman Orchards Sunflower Maze is opening on July 27th and will run through the end of summer. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Sunflower Maze (105 South Street Middlefield, CT) at 9am. After the ribbon cutting ceremony, Clifford The Big Red Dog® will be at the Apple Barrel Farm Market from 10am-4pm for photo opportunities!

This annual event features sprawling fields of sunflowers arranged in a labyrinthine pattern. Visitors can wander through the maze, surrounded by towering sunflowers, and try to find their way out. It’s a delightful activity that appeals to both children and adults, offering a sense of adventure and discovery.

Thursday-Sunday 10 am – 7 pm (last ticket entry is 6 pm). The last Entry to the Sunflower Field is 6 pm- the field remains open until 7 pm. Snack Barn and The Farmstand close at 6:45 pm.


The Annual Brown’s Harvest Sunflower Festival will be held the first three weekends in August (August 5th, 12th and 19th during normal hours (10 am to 5 pm). Pick sunflowers, take photos & explore the farm.
