SUMMARY:The Annual Buttonwood Farm Sunflower Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Annual Buttonwood Farm Sunflower Festival is happening from July 20th to July 28\, 2024\, where you can immerse yourself in the beauty of over 14 acres of vibrant sunflowers. Buttonwood Farm dedicates their efforts to planting and harvesting approximately 300\,000 sunflower blooms each year for your enjoyment. More importantly\, this event aims to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut\, a non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of children facing life-threatening medical conditions. \nPlease note that sunflowers are available while supplies last. Bundles of cut sunflowers are available for $3 per flower\, with all proceeds going directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut. Unfortunately\, due to high demand\, they are unable to reserve or hold sunflower bouquets\, and there are no flowers available for U-Pick or cut-your-own. \nButtonwood Farm\, located in Griswold\, Connecticut\, is not only known for its delectable homemade ice cream but also for the breathtaking sight of 14 acres of sunflowers. We have been recognized as one of the best places in Connecticut to enjoy ice cream. In 2003\, we initially planted one acre of sunflowers\, and to our surprise\, people flocked from miles away to marvel at the sunflowers and capture their beauty through photographs. At the end of the season\, we used the seeds as animal feed. Today\, we not only continue to utilize the seeds as feed but also sell sunflower bunches to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation. \nCheck the status of the blooms on the Buttonwood Farm’s Instagram Page. \nThere are fun rides through the sunflower fields at Buttonwood Farm. A cover wagon pulled by a tractor and a cow ride for kids pulled by a tractor. \n \nDuring the festival\, you can experience more than 14 acres of blooming sunflowers\, embark on a delightful tractor-drawn hayride from 11 am until dusk\, and contribute to an incredible cause. Don’t forget to indulge in their exclusive sunflower ice cream\, available only during this event. \nCapture stunning photographs and create cherished memories amidst our sunflower fields and enjoy a scenic hayride through cow pastures and 4 acres of the Buttonwood Farm sunflower fields in full bloom. \nEach fresh-cut sunflower bunch is priced at $3 per flower\, with 100% of the proceeds directly benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut. We also offer t-shirts featuring an annual sunflower design on the front. Since 2004\, Buttonwood Farm has raised over a million dollars for Make-A-Wish through the sale of our magnificent sunflowers. \nThe Annual Buttonwood Farm Sunflower Festival is held every year in July. Please visit the farm’s website for up-to-date information about the dates and blooming times. \nButtonwood Farm is located at 473 Shetucket Turnpike\, Griswold\, CT 06351\, just about 10 miles from Foxwoods Resort Casino. Call Buttonwood Farm at 860-376-4081 or visit the Buttonwood Farms website to verify date changes.
