SUMMARY:Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo Glow Wild Lantern Festival
DESCRIPTION:Beginning September 14th\, 2023 and continuing through December 2nd\, “Glow Wild\,” a brilliant\, illuminated Lantern Festival\, will be held at the Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo Thursday through Sunday evenings. The Glow Wild Lantern Festival is designed for everyone to enjoy and makes the perfect family outing with kids. \nThe festival will showcase more than 35 large-scale illuminated displays\, featuring hundreds of beautiful individual and interactive lanterns. \n\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\nSpanning the width and breadth of Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo’s 30 acres\, guests are invited to walk through glowing corridors. Displays of flora and fauna will light up the night sky\, dazzling guests of all ages! The Glow Wild Lantern Festival is designed for everyone to enjoy – whether a family outing\, romantic date\, or coworker get-together.  \nDates and Times:\nConnecticut’s Beardsley Zoo Glow Wild Lantern Festival will be held Thursday – Sunday from September 14- December 2 from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM. \nTicket Information:\n\n​Adult tickets (ages 12 +) are $22\nChildren (11 and under) are $20\nChildren under three and adults over 75 are free\n\nTimed tickets should be purchased online at beardsleyzoo.org in advance\, offered in half hour increments. A small number of tickets may be available at the door\, depending upon Zoo capacity. \n​Wheelchairs and strollers will be available to rent. Food will not be available for purchase.\nConnecticut’s Beardsley Zoo continues to offer guests enchanting Centennial Year experiences! As a continuation of the Zoo’s yearlong 100th birthday celebration\, the Zoo will host a larger-than-life Lantern Festival inspired by our wild world. This incredible evening festival will showcase more than 35 large scale illuminated sculptures that will amaze guests of all ages.

SUMMARY:Summer Zoo Patrol at Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo
DESCRIPTION:Join us this summer for an exciting week of Zoo Patrol adventures! Your child will have a blast exploring various areas of the zoo while enjoying personalized guided experiences. Each day will be filled with engaging presentations and hands-on projects that focus on animal care\, including enrichment\, training\, diet\, habitat maintenance\, and much more! \nZoo Patrol operates from 9am to 12:30pm\, with drop-off available between 8:50am and 9:10am. Pick-up time is at 12:30pm. To ensure the safety of all participants\, please ensure that an adult signs your child in and out at the Research Station. \n \nAdditionally\, make sure your child brings a non-refrigerated snack\, a mask\, water\, and any other items they may need for a day of outdoor exploration at the Zoo. SUMMARY:Beardsley Zoo's Wild About Reading Scavenger Hunt with 500 Prizes
DESCRIPTION:Beardsley Zoo has teamed up with 25 area libraries to help put the ‘bear” in Bear-dsley Zoo\, while supporting literacy and reading. To celebrate the opening of the Zoo’s new Andean bear habitat and a summer of Be Bear Aware\, the Zoo is sponsoring 500 prizes hidden in books at participating libraries (see below). \nChildren are invited to paw through books on bears at local libraries to find prizes on Saturday\, June 17. DESCRIPTION:Beardsley Zoo is offering Free Admission every Saturday to Bridgeport residents\, through June 24\, 2023\, limited by ticket availability. Awarded as a grant from the City of Bridgeport through the American Rescue Plan. \nThis special program runs every Saturday through June 24.  “Cool Blue Bridgeport” is an on-grounds educational program on climate change in combination with free admission to the Zoo every Saturday for Bridgeport residents. \nBridgeport residents must register for free tickets online at beardsleyzoo.org\, using the code “COOLBLUE.” \nA photo ID with proof of residence will be required at the gate\, either a driver’s license or a Park City ID.
