The Brooklyn Fair will be held August 24th-27th in Brooklyn, Connecticut. The fair holds the distinction of being the longest unbroken lineage of agricultural fairs in the United States, with its origins tracing back to 1809. Over the course of its extensive history, the fair has evolved substantially. In contemporary times, the Brooklyn Fair masterfully combines elements of the past and present, harmonizing traditions with the contemporary era.

The classic Home & Garden exhibition remains a pivotal part of the fair, showcasing an array of fruits and vegetables, alongside captivating artworks, crafts, and handicrafts. Entrants encompass both adults and children, each contributing their creations. The most exceptional displays will be duly acknowledged with awards. This segment stands as a vital tribute to the fair’s historical and agricultural heritage, an indispensable cornerstone of its enduring essence.

What is there to do at the Brooklyn Fair

Livestock: Walk through the many barns and outdoor animal buildings to see cattle, sheep, oxen, poultry, rabbits, pigs, and more.

Country Store & Museum: Take a walk through history in the museum, showcasing an outstanding collection of antique farm equipment and household items.

Educational Exhibits: Outside displays demonstrating antique engines and machines, blacksmith shop and an assortment of antique tractors, vintage cars, trucks, and carriages will be on display.

Live Concerts: From top-name Nashville acts on the Main Stage to smaller, more diverse acts, there will be a variety of entertainment options all four days on Center and Acoustic Stages. The Playland Stage also offers interactive music and entertainment.

Playland: Playland offers numerous hands-on games and kid-friendly competitions. Visit Bella for a free balloon animal (Friday to Sunday) or explore the interactive Playland Village.

Carnival Rides & Midway: Games, rides and more! Ride and game admission prices are as posted.

Great Food: Cotton candy, French fries, kettle corn, ice cream, pizza, and deep-fried treats, by various nonprofit and commercial vendors.

Outdoor Vendors & the Better Living Building: The fair offers shopping options from hand-made items and novelties to farm equipment and more.

Home & Garden: On view will be fruit and vegetables, arts and crafts, and handwork items.

Competitions: The Fair is host to many competitions — from blue ribbon quilts and vegetables to cattle and sheep, to tractors and trucks, to lawnmower and veggie car racing.
