SUMMARY:Lyman Allyn Art Museum's Summer Fest
DESCRIPTION:The Annual Summer Fest at Lyman Allyn Art Museum will be held on Saturday\, June 17th\, 2023 from 11am to 4 pm Rain or Shine. Summer Fest is our FREE\, family friendly\, community event\, featuring food trucks\, live entertainment\, and family friendly activities on the Museum grounds and inside the Museum. In the event of rain\, everything but the food trucks will move indoors to the Museum galleries\, auditorium\, and art studio. \n \nCome enjoy: food trucks\, live entertainment • family activities • art projects • face painting by TeachArt2Me • balloon creations by April Brunelle • a performance by Mystic Paper Beasts • story time and crafts from the Public Library of New London • animals from the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center • an activity from Connecticut Science Center • live birds of prey from A Place Called Hope • food trucks • and more! \nEntertainment Schedule\n11 am – 4 pm Explore the grounds and visit the galleries \n11 am – 4 pm Mobile library with the Public Library of New London \n11 am – 3 pm Studio art project: learn about the Summer Solstice and make sun prints. \n11 am – 2 pm Balloon creations with April Brunelle \n11:15 am – 12 pm Ramblin’ Dan Stevens: performing a mix of traditional style blues\, Americana and originals \n12 – 12:30 pm Performance by Mystic Paper Beasts \n12 – 3 pm Face painting by TeachArt2Me \n1 – 3 pm Dry ice activity with the Connecticut Science Center \n1:15 – 2:15 pm Live birds of prey from A Place Called Hope \n1:30 – 2:15 pm The Rivergods: Playing their own heartfelt harmony-rich folky/rootsy/rockish music \n2 – 4 pm Enjoy animals from the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center \n2:30 – 3:30 pm Need to Know: Performing a repertoire of soft rock and cover band music \nPerformers include: Bootleg Harmony • Need to Know • Ramblin’ Dan Stevens • and The Rivergods! \nVisitors are welcome to bring a blanket and explore the grounds of the Lyman Allyn\, including the McCourt 9/11 Memorial Garden and the outdoor Sculpture trail. The entire Museum will be open during this event\, so you can explore all of our exhibits. It’s a perfect event to spend with family and friends. Bring them all!
