Lunarfest Parade Yale China New Haven Connecticut

Celebrate the Year of the Dragon at the Lunarfest Parade in New Haven, CT on February 26th. The parade is presented by Yale China. Lunarfest, Connecticut’s largest annual Lunar New Year celebration, showcases a traditional lion dance troupe, local artists, and organizations. Join the festivities for a blend of learning, culture, arts, and fun.

Following the Lion parade on Sunday, February 26, from 10 am to 11 am on Whitney Avenue (between Grove and Trumbull), participate in free, family-friendly activities at partner locations. Enjoy the Julong Wushu lion dance troupe’s performance at the New Haven Free Public Library and a shadow puppet show hosted by OompaPossum Puppets’ artistic director Kimberly Van Aelst.

Experience captivating Kung Fu and Tai Chi demonstrations, along with brief classes, presented by the New England Asian American Cultural Center at the New Haven Museum. Attendees will also have the exciting opportunity to participate in a workshop, crafting their own Chinese dragon.

Lunarfest fosters cross-cultural awareness and unity through community collaborations, standing as Connecticut’s premier celebration of Lunar New Year and Chinese culture.
