Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo is hosting the Zoo’s traditional summer children’s program, Zoo Patrol in July and August. Six weeklong sessions are planned, covering dates from July 3 through August 11. There are three sessions for children ages 7-11, and three sessions for children ages 11-13.

Zoo Patrol runs from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with drop-off from 8:50-9:10 and pick-up at 12:30 p.m. The cost of the weeklong program is $225 for Zoo members, and $250 for non-members.

Summer Sessions:

Week 1 July 3-7: Ages 11-13
Week 2 July 10-14: Ages 7-11
Week 3 July 17-21: Ages 11-13
Week 4 July 24-28: Ages 7-11
Week 5 July 31-4: Ages 11-13
Week 6 August 7-11: Ages 7-11

Each day, children will explore a different area of the zoo and have a custom guided experience. They’ll explore how the animals are cared for through presentations and projects on enrichment, training, diet, habitat care, and more.

All children must be signed in and out by an adult at the Research Station. Children should bring a non-refrigerable snack, mask, water, and anything else they may need for a day outside at the Zoo. Sunscreen is recommended.
