Connecticut’s Free fishing days are the perfect opportunity for beginners to try fishing out for the first time. For a single day anglers can go fishing without a license.
Connecticut has two Free Fishing Days coming up – June 18th and August 12th, 2023
No Fishing License is required on these days; however, all other rules and regulations still apply.
The free one day license is available through the online license system three weeks prior to each date.
In general, for young anglers a fishing license is not required to include young and budding anglers. Connecticut offers the FREE Youth Fishing Passport.
For High School Teachers a fishing license waiver can be granted to all students participating in a fishing field trip, provided the field trip is part of the school curriculum (call 860-424-3474 for details).
