April Kids Week at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum
Families and friends are invited to come out to the Mashantucket-Pequot Museum for a week of native crafts, fun and edu-tainment April 20-April 22, 2023 for Spring Break for kids in Connecticut.

Each day there will be crafts and special highlights in the museum, Gathering Space and various tours and workshops. Workshops and tours are on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations cannot be made in advance.
Wampum Bracelet Workshop
This is a hands-on learning workshop discussing the origin & cultural significance of wampum. Participants will create their own unique bracelet as a keepsake.
Guided Tours • Through the Eyes of a Pequot Child
Imaginations soar with the sights and sounds of a 16th century Pequot Village. This tour promotes understanding of Pequot life before European contact and demonstrates the importance of family and community.
Birds of Prey
Interact with live hawks and owls as you learn more about our local raptor’s unique adaptations and role in the ecosystem.
Ahqeesh! Bingo
Learn some Pequot language while having fun playing Ahqeesh “Stop” So be prepared to yell “Ahqeesh!” when you have a winning card so we stop calling words
Native Games
Come experience a variety of traditional native games and fun with our Pequot Museum educators such as ring pin, hub bub and more
Rez Walk
Enjoy the outdoors on a nature walk with a Pequot Museum Educator through the Great Cedar Swamp on the Mashantucket Pequot Reservation. Along the way you will learn how to identify plants, animals and visit the Monhantic Fort.
Corn Husk Doll Making Workshop
This is a hand’s on learning workshop with a traditional craft that is designed to teach traditional native values and the art of the use of corn husk, a natural resource from Mother Earth
