Weekend Workshops: Valentine’s Day Embroidery at Wilton Historical Society
On Saturday, February 4th from 11:00 to 12:00, the Wilton Historical Society will offer an opportunity for kids to create their very own Valentine’s Day themed gift. During this program, participants will design and embroider their own ‘Valentines’ muslin pillowcases to give out to friends or family on the fourteenth. Exchanging gifts with loved ones for Valentine’s Day is a centuries old tradition.
Suggested for ages 6 – 10. Members: $10 per child; Non-members $15 per child.
Registration required.
To register fill out the form here or email info@wiltonhistorical.org
Museum Educator Catherine Lipper will discuss Valentine’s Day and its historical significance, in addition to the uses of embroidery in Colonial Times. At the end of the workshop, each participant will be given a heart-shaped sugar cookie to decorate and take home. Don’t miss out on this sweet celebration!
